Glendale Community College CA won its 15th consecutive Western State Conference women's team championship with a 28-83 victory over Oxnard College CA at the Fairbanks Course at Cuesta College in San Luis Obispo, Calif. Glendale placed its first five scorers in the top nine and had seven athletes in the top 25, led by Yajaira Calderon taking third in the 5-kilometer race in 19:51.5. Phoebe Forsyth was fourth in 20:06.2, Jamie Levin finished fifth in 20:22.3, Lydia Forsyth secured seventh in 20:31.1 and Bianca Biel placed ninth in 21:15.6 for the Vaqueros, who had Viviana Martin Del Campo in 13th in 21:59.6 and Jasmine Corralejo earning 25th in 23:38.8. Glendale is seeking its first Southern California team championship since 2016 when it competes Nov. 8 at Mission Bay Park in San Diego.
